I really wanted to like this coat, but I am disappointed with its quality and durability. I tripped 1 time 48 hours after buying it, and the zipper ripped. The website insists you need to unzip the bottom zipper, but the store where I bought it didn't mention anything about unzipping. Plus it was pouring rain, so I wanted to extra protection. If you are paying a coat 325$ + taxes, I would expect it to be reinforced in strained areas. I expect failure could happen with repeated abuse, but I don't think it is normal after one incident, with a brand new coat.
Aside from this, the zipper did not work very well from the start, glitchy, not fluid, especially when unzipping from the bottom. The coat is also quite narrow in the chest area, I did feel a bit stuck, even with small breasts.
All in all, if you are only walking in town, the coat could work for you. But if yoy are hoping to use it in rugged Newfoundland, I would definitely avoid.
I absolutely love my Mernini! I took it to Iceland early Dec 2025 and it not only looked fabulous, but its functionality was far beyond expectations! The highland winds were no match for this coat. So thoroughly impressed and recommend this coat 100%. Not only great for everyday life, it will now continue to be a staple in my travel bag.
Love the petite size Mernini raincoat! Length is perfect! Stylish and classic for women of all age groups. Will keep me warm and dry on spring and fall evenings when viewing the night sky.
Rainy day in Copenhagen my jacket kept me dry and warm. The petite sizing is perfect for my 5’ frame. The pockets have a flap to protect from the rain. Colour merlot so gorgeous!
This is one of the best-fitting coats I've owned in a while. My upper body is one size smaller than my lower body, which creates certain challenges when buying a coat. This one fits perfectly on my shoulders and I can zip it up easily. Love it so far.

Even better than expected! Calling this a "raincoat" does not do it justice! Oh, it is certainly waterfproof, but there is nothing plastic-y about it. I absolutely love the feel, features and fit (ordered it much larger to accommodate layers). Money well spent :)

I love my Mernini. The fit is perfect and I appreciate the attention to the little details, like cuffs on sleeves and a hood that actually fits without blocking your vision. I chose Merlot Red to add some colour on gloomy days. I’m thinking of the vest next.
I ordered online and UPS was being a little difficult getting ahold of to find out why my package was delayed. Maria stepped in and it showed up the same day. I didn’t realize she was tracking my delivery. Great service and a great product!!
My wife loves it! Only thing I wish there had to of been a gift option on the shippong as she webt to Canada Post and got the package, which was in my name, and that ruined the Xmas gift surprise. Otherwise, fantastic!
I am 5'3" and 110lbs, puchased the petite XS. The quality is nice but it doesn't fit like a true petite size, in my opinion. While the length is several inches shorter, the sleeves are still too long and the pockets sit too low. Also, the pockets are oddly large and stick out when the coat is worn open.
Disappointed with how the hood fits. In order for me to see where I’m going I need to wear a baseball cap with a wide brim under the hood.
Also I’m finding the zipper finicky for zipping up.
Love the colour and length as well as the soft lining and the sturdy feel of the outer shell.

Love the fact that it comes in Petite and the Merlot Red there is no better colour for me. Only thing i regret is holding out so long before purchasing. I've only had a short while but have gotten so much wear from it already.

Excellent experience. Even though I required some customer service for a return the teams response was timely and arranged returned even though postal strike.
I also had an opportunity to share some feedback regarding sizing. I needed a XS in the raincoat but needed a medium in the vest. Sizing different for the items.
I love my rain coat, it fits very comfortably I’m an XL, the only thing with it is the sleeve cuffs that you put your thumbs through there is not enough stretch in it, I find it very restrictive so I don’t put my thumbs through.
I absolutely love my coat. It is probably the most warm coat I have ever had and I've only had it a couple of weeks.
The delivery was very quick and that was much appreciated

Love my petite Merlot Mernini. Took a while to get the correct size but totally worth the wait and returns are easy. In my opinion they run a bit on the larger size.
Perfect for our wet and windy weather here in Newfoundland. I am sure it will be a spring & fall wardrobe staple for me.
I love my mernini raincoat. Every single time I wear it I’m stopped by someone who comments on how nice it is. Being a plus sized woman I often feel yucky in my clothes but this coat makes me feel good. Thank you for the nice range in both sizes and colours! It means a lot.
Beautiful red coat with black liner. Great quality. I love the features like magnetic snaps and thumb hole cuffs. I had to exchange for a smaller size but it was quick and painless. Love the personalized customer service too. I left the east coast a long time ago and it is wonderful having a little slice of down home in my closet. I keep waiting for it to rain here in Ontario so I can try it out! If you are just at that height where you could go either way, try the petite first.
We recommend you size according to the nearest bust measurement. This measurement is the most important as our fabric is not stretchable and should fit comfortably around the chest area.

Why is the two-way front zipper important?
The 2-way zipper is especially important for long coats and is designed to be used when you are bending over or sitting down. During these actions the fabric may pull tight and possibly tear at the area where the zipper begins. Remember to use the bottom zipper to alleviate stress in that area.
